The prairies are a unique landscape. They have wide open vistas but they can also make you feel isolated and separated from society. The architecture in Winnipeg reflects that concept. They can be vast and leave you in awe, but other times make you feel claustrophobic.
Trying to find a balance with those two concepts is what I aim to do. To me the mundane spaces around us embody those two ideals perfectly.
The mundane spaces are so often overlooked because they lack that something that makes them exceptional. Not having that certain quality doesn't make the space any less beautiful.
